BJP delegation visits Moradabad jail to meet workers arrested in Kanth violence
A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) delegation visited Moradabad jail on Sunday to meet their party workers who were arrested after the Kanth violence.
BJP Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Suresh Khanna criticized the inhuman behavior of the local police with the BJP workers saying that they were partial in illegally removing the mic from the temple which led to the violence.
"The police did injustice to the people and did inhuman behavior; some got injuries in eyes, nose, legs and stomach. We will raise the issue in Vidhan Sabha and present the entire report. The mic was removed in an illegal way due to which the clash erupted. Had that police not been partial in removing the mic this situation wouldn't have occurred, they are not even providing proper food in the jail," said Khanna.
"They removed mike from the temple of one community and when the workers protested against it the police baton charged the ladies and arrested the workers under such sections which couldn't be bailed easily. The rule should be equal for both the communities. We'll use all possibilities to raise our voice against it, the situation is shameful and we will protest against it," he added.
Another MLA Suresh Rana asked for the Uttar Pradesh government's resignation and said that the motive behind the baton charge was to ruin the atmosphere of the area.
Earlier today, BJP leaders had arrived in Moradabad on Sunday to meet the victims of Kanth violence and their party workers seeking to investigate the reason behind the recent clash between the local police and the BJP workers.
