Konkani speaking people from across India will assemble at the annual Akila Bharatha Konkani Parishat (ABKP) conference to be held in Panaji in Goa on July 8.

ABKP vice president V V Shanai told UNI here today that well known Konkani scholars and other leaders would take part at the function.

ABKP was launched by Konkani writers, teachers and others in 1939 at Karwar in Karnataka. The Platinum Jubilee was held at Karwar on in July last year.

We expect thousands of Konkani speaking and other people at the function. This include many from across the Globe who have settled in foreign countries, Mr Shanai said.

A number of programmes have been lined up in Panjim during the monsoon month and all Konkani speaking people are welcomed to attend, he said.
