Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has turned up the heat on Manchester City by claiming UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules are 'dodgy' and that he is waiting for UEFA financial chiefs to investigate City's financial results.

City this week announced their annual losses had been reduced to 50 million pounds for last season after they sold 'player image rights' for 24.5 million pounds to an unnamed company and 22.5 million pounds of 'intellectual property' to 'related parties' such as the New York City Major League Soccer franchise owned by the Manchester club.

According to the Mirror, City has since spent more than 90 million pounds on transfer fees, although Chelsea insisted that they are complying strictly with the guidelines introduced to reduce debt - and have made a profit in the January transfer window by selling Juan Mata and Kevin de Bruyne.

Stating that he is waiting for UEFA financial chiefs to investigate City's financial results, Mourinho said that the way UEFA controls the situation is very strange as many clubs are following the FFP rules in a dodgy manner.

UEFA can fine clubs, deduct points, or even expel them from European competition if they fall foul of FFP restrictions, the report added.
