Several legislators belonging to different parties today joined the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the presence of party president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, at Telangana Bhavan, the TRS headquarters in Banjara Hills, here.

Those who joined the TRS included two MLAs and nine MLCs from the BSP,five MLCs from the Congress and two MLCs from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Mr Rao presented to the new entrants the customary pink scarfs (pink is party colour of the TRS) in the presence of a large number of TRS supporters.

Welcoming them, Mr Rao said the legislators who opted to join the TRS did not do so for any posts but to work for the development of the state and for creating a 'swarna Telangana' (golden Telangana). They had decided to march with TRS for the state's future and well being.

The TRS chief said those parties which had in the past claimed that the TRS would vanish were now washed away.
