Floral tributes paid to Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder
Observing that the life of Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Shyama Prasad Mukherjee is a source of inspiration, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today described him as a great patriot and nationalist ideologue.
On the martyrdom day of Dr Mukherjee, Mr Chouhan paid floral tributes at his statue near Deendayal Premises here today, an official release said.
He said Dr Mukherjee was the first leader who laid down his life for unity and integrity of the country after Independence.
Union Mines, Labour and Employment Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, state's Higher Education Minister Umashankar Gupta, other BJP bigwigs and a large number of public representatives and office-bearers also paid tributes to late Dr Mukherjee on the occasion.
