The CBI, investigating the Rs 2500 crore fraud of Saradha Ponzi scam, was today awarded the custody of three prime suspects - Sudipta Sen, Debjani Mukherjee and Rajya Sabha MP Kunal Ghosh for four days by a lower court.

The Alipur court in a fresh order sent the trio for four-day CBI custody till June 26.

This was the second time the Central investigating agency took custody of the prime accused after seven days by the same court order on June 16 in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam.

However, the CBI did not pray for its custody for three others accused Manoj Nigel, Arvind Chouhan and Somnath Dutta, who were sent to judicial custody up to July 7.
