The body of entrepreneurs, Indus Entrepreneurs (TIE) on Friday hosted its conference of the year - Tiecon 2014.

The event was inaugurated by West Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra, Deputy British High Commissioner Scott Furssedonn Wood, IAS principle Satish Tiwari and Bikram Dasgupta president of TIE Kolkata and executive chairman and founder Globsyn Group.

Speaking on the occasion, Amit Mitra said that, "Kolkata is great. This is a great platform for entrepreneurs."

Ashok Rao, CEO Excalibur Pictures said, "India ranks 134th in business and Singapore ranks the 1st. Growth is needed in the business sector and the challenge is faced by the budding entrepreneurs in the business."

The topic for this year's forum was 'Idea to Corporation'.

Bikram Dasgupta, President of Kolkata Tiecon said, "Tiecon is a platform for budding entrepreneurs to network in a fluid manner and foster the spirit of entrepreneurship. The yearly event, Tiecon is a tryst of sorts for making or maturing of new businesses and industry relationships."
