Cong leader lashes out at Diggy
Senior Congress leader and former MLA Anam Vivekananda Reddy slammed AICC leader Digvijay Singh without naming him while addressing a party meeting here today.
'While our leader (without naming Mr Rahul Gandhi) is working for the party without getting married, the old fellow (without naming Mr Digvijay Singh) wants to marry again.
'These are the leaders responsible for the decimation of Congress in the state,' he alleged.
Mr Reddy made the controversial statement in the presence of senior leaders on the dais at the party's state-level review meeting.
Mr Reddy alleged that Central party leaders, whose names were even difficult to pronounce by the people in Seemandhra, caused 'unjust bifurcation' which was 'done in a humiliating manner.'
Moreover, the leaders made statements at their will, disregarding the sentiments of Telugu people, which made people of the state furious at Congress, which paid price in the election.
Congress did a mistake by entrusting the assignment of bifurcation to the leaders who could not speak Telugu and did not know the Telugu culture and traditions either, which resulted in the party tasting an unprecedented rout in the elections, Mr Reddy, also the younger brother of former Finance Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, alleged.
