The Hope Foundation, Kolkata celebrated its annual sports day on Jan 27 at Kolkata's Deshapriya Park.


About 500 children from different projects of Hope participated in the sports event with great enthusiasm.

Children represented Holistic Education Project, Protection Homes, Punorjibon and Nabadisha project.

Jenny Browne, Overseas Director, The Hope Foundation, said, "Sports play an important role in the holistic development of a child. It is therefore imperative to conduct sports events and let children develop their hidden potential to the fullest.''

A group from UK, 'Performers Without Borders' presented circus on the playground.

Children took part in several events like toffee race, potato race, balloon race, memory race, biscuits race, relay race, Go as You Like among others. All the participants were awarded with a prize.

Champion of the day was Nabadisha Project followed by Holistic Education Project (South). The winner's trophy was sponsored by the Deutche Bank.
