MH370: Family reveals why pilot is not to blame
As the mystery surrounding the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 enters its hundredth day since its disappearance, the family of Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah refuse to be shaken in their belief in the pilot.
Ever since the MH370 flight went missing, Zaharie has been accused of extra-marital affair and indulging in acts of domestic terrorism by plotting a plane crash using his at home flight stimulator, in protest against the government.
The list of accusations apparently doesn't end here, as the pilot is also believed to be a political fanatic and a staunch supporter of controversial Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim.
However, Zaharie's brother in law, Asuad Khan says that he was not a fanatical supporter of Ibrahim, and neither did he attend Anwar's adverse court verdict the day before the flight and was not incensed by the verdict, News.com.au reports.
Pointing to a photograph of the pilot's five-year-old grandson Ahmad Naufal Khan, Asuad Khan said that there are two reasons for Arie to still be alive, adding that Ahmad is his best friend and he was devoted to the little boy.
The other reason why Zaharie would want to continue living is his daughter, says Asuad Khan.
The family describes the pilot as an ordinary father who loved cracking jokes, fixing things and cooking.
After the news of the unknown fate of the flight broke out, Zaharie's wife, Faizah Khanum, moved out of the home she shared with her husband in Shah Alam.
At present, she is living with her younger son and daughter in their second home in Subang, a suburb of Kuala Lumpur.
Talking about the plight of his sister and rubbishing claims of any marital discord between the couple, Asuad Khan said that the home in Shah Alam holds too many memories for Faizah and too much of it reminds her of Arie.
Khan further said that the homemade flight simulator, seized by the authorities from Zaharie's house for examination, was not being used by him since the past one year as it was corrupted and his wife had asked him to pack it away to make space in the house, the report said.
