Kumaran, who hails from an agrarian family in Karikallampakkam, has finished 689th rank in the Civil Services Examination, the results of which were announced recently.

Thirty-one year old Kumaran obtained his Bachelor Degree of Agriculture from Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru College of Agriculture and Research Institute (PAJANCOA & RI), Karaikal affiliated to Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and Masters in Agricultural Economics from Sri Venkateswara Agricultural College, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.

After completing MBA from National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, Campus interview paved his way to Seed Marketing MNC's.

Currently, he is working as an Agricultural Officer at Government of Puducherry.

His parents are Ramachandiran and Indirani, both residing at Perungalore village, Karikallampakkam. Kumaran is married to a school teacher, Usha.

Kumaran said he managed to devote his time for preparations despite his official commitments. The perseverance to crack Civil Services, which is deep-rooted in his heart, finally obtained the fruit of success, he added.

Kumaran, ranked 689 at all India level, is hopeful of joining in IPS or IRS.

He had qualified the preliminary exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) during May 2013, Mains exam during December 2013, attended the interview on May 2014 and final results were declared on June, 12, 2014.
