Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat was admitted in AIIMS in New Delhi this evening after suffering a neck jerk injury following emergency landing of his chopper near Palam airport due to bad weather.

The Chief Minister was on his way to New Delhi from here when his chopper was apparently stuck in a cloud and due to the sudden jerk, he suffered a neck injury, according to media advisor to the CM Surendra Kumar.

As Mr Rawat(67) was in pain and discomfort, he was rushed to AIIMS in New Delhi.

According to Mr Kumar, he was recovering and there was no major injury. The doctors had conducted several tests to rule out any major problem. They were, however, awaiting the MRI report to rule out any possibility of a hairline fracture.

If results came out normal, he was likely to be discharged by tomorrow afternoon.
