Private sector bank, Yes Bank has been awarded the Golden Peacock Award for Corporate Social Responsibility 2013 in the Banking (Private) category.

Kerala Governor Nikhil Kumar presented the award to Namita Vikas, Chief Sustainability Officer at Yes Bank.

The bank received this recognition for leadership in the Indian financial sector in Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development based on a three tier assessment process done by a jury comprising of CSR, sustainability and human resources professionals headed by former Chief Justice of India, Justice P.N. Bhagwati.

Commenting on the award, Rana Kapoor, MD and CEO, Yes Bank, said, "We are extremely pleased to receive this prestigious award that endorses the significant strides Yes Bank has made in evangelizing CSR, sustainable development among communities and leveraging our Responsible Banking ethos to create positive impact on ground. We aim to be a benchmark financial institution in India for CSR. Winning the prestigious award is a validation of the tangible results, we have achieved by adopting a strategic approach to CSR and sustainable development."

The Golden Peacock Awards for Corporate Social Responsibility were instituted in 2003 by the Institute of Directors, and recognize Indian organizations that demonstrate integration of CSR into their organizational operations and developing innovative partnership models to fulfil social responsibilities.
