United States (U.S) Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Nisha Biswal, was holding talks with her Indian counterparts in South Block on Monday, reportedly to reset India-U.S ties, which have taken a hit in the past seven months.

This is reportedly first such engagement between India and the U.S. after the Narendra Modi-led government assumed office on May 27.

Her visit comes close on the heels of U.S appointing Kathleen Stephens as US Charge d'Affaires in New Delhi.
