East Godavari Collector Neethu Kumari honoured 173 head masters of Government high schools for achieving cent percent results in the tenth class public examination at a function held at Ambedkar Bhavan here today.

She also presented appreciation certificates and mementoes to 29 students for their best performance in the tenth class public exams.

Stating that the district had topped in the state this year by securing highest percentage of passes in tenth class public exams, the Collector has attributed the entire credit to the collective efforts of the headmasters and the teachers and wanted them to continue the same trend in coming years also.

She directed the headmasters to ensure that the basic amenities in their schools such as drinking water and toilets were provided before re-opening of schools.

Additional Joint Collector D Markandeyulu called upon the teachers to update their knowledge and teaching methods in tune with changing times.

Regional Joint Director of School Education M R Prasanna Kumar advised the teachers to have comprehensive knowledge about the changes being made in the examination system from current academic year.

District Educational Officer K V Srinivasulu Reddy, Rajiv Vidya Mission project officer V Chakradhararao, deputy educational officers R S Ganga Bhavani, Venkatanarasamma, Abraham, Headmasters association president I Satyanarayana and Secretary P Vishnumurty took part in the deliberations.
