The activists of the Periyar Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam (PDVK) staged a demonstration near the office of the Director General Of Police demanding that an FIR be registered against two cops allegedly involved in the molestation of two minor girls near Thavalakuppam a few days back.

The activists led by Kazhagam leader Gokul Gandhiraj attempted to picket the DGP office, but police personnel blocked their effort using barricade.

Police, however, allowed the representatives of organisation to submit a memorandum on the issue. Gokul Gandhiraj said the police department had suspended the cops, who tried to molest the minor girls, while their parents were away. However, so far no FIR has been registered against the cops in the complaint.

He further said the police personnel at Thavalakuppam Police Station refused to accept the complaint initially and no action was taken against those, who had refused to even accept the plaint.

The activists charged that the authorities were helping the two cops to escape from the charges without registering FIR and the arresting the involved cops. They also demanded action against those cops, who refused to receive the complaint.
