Rowing: 63 races on second day

Kolkata, June 5 : On the second day of the 17th Sub-Junior and 18th Challenger Sprints National Rowing Championships, 63 races at the Repechage Round were held here on Thursday.

The days best timing was recorded by Corps of Engineers' Rowing Association, Pune at 1 minute 43.41 seconds, in Coxed Men's Fours.

The events were Single Scull, Double Scull, Coxless Pairs, and Coxed Fours across the categories of Under 13, Under 15 and Open Age Challengers.

The young rowers of West Bengal won 10 of the 14 races it contested. Apart from the host state, team Tamil Nadu has performed well, winning 7 of the 13 races they participated in.

The event was graced by the presence of Governor of Chattisgarh Shekhar Dutt.
