Autonomous institute of non formal science education, Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) on Wednesday hosted the international conference on research, education and curriculum planning for gifted minds at the Bengal Chamber here.


The initiative by JBNSTS was aimed at researching the best practices in the world, in the sphere of education for the gifted and develop a framework to adapt according to the needs of the country.

The end objective was to create a 'Magnet School' with state of the art facilities in this area.

Indian entrepreneur Purnendu Chaterjee said, "This initiative was meant only for students and to nurture them properly. This initiative was a team effort to find bright children from school level itself."

He added, "Children should be motivated to shine in their life and make their nation proud."

Paromita Roy, Deputy Chairman of JBNSTS said, "It is a five days regional program. Two days will be held in Kolkata while three days will be held in New Delhi to bring out the talented children."

The interrnational conference in education and curriculum planning for gifted minds, will be attended by 24 noted Indian and International experts in the field of gifted education from all over the world.
