The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad's Staff Co-operative Credit and Supply Society Limited, celebrated its golden jubilee today by organising a gala lunch followed by presenting a special memento (silver coin) to its members to mark the occasion.


IIMA director Prof Ashish Nanda, dean (A and ER) Prof Arvind Sahay and chief administrative officer Commander Manoj Bhatt joined the celebration along with the other members.

In 2004-05, the society received an award by the Ahmedabad district co-operative Sangh to gain the first rank under the Salaried Employees Credit and Cooperative Societies Ltd.

The society was established in 1964 with an objective to support the staff of the institute.

Over the years, the society has initiated several welfare activities like provided loans, consumer items and other services for the benefit of its members.

The society has been paying its members a dividend in the range of 12-15 per cent for past several years.

At present, the society has about 300 members which include faculty, officers and staff.
