Yusuf Pathan's tsunami 72 runs from 22-ball pulled Kolkata Knight Riders dramatically into 2nd place in the league table when they beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 4 wickets at 66,000 capacity crowd at Eden Gardens tonight.

Survived two catches on 0 and 15 big hitting Yusuf Pathan made fastest 50 in 15 balls and virtually led the Shah Rukh Khan owned franchise to finish second with better run rate ahead of MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings.

Pathan's 72 came from 22 balls with five 4s and 7 6s in the hilarious Eden Gardens, which will host Qualifier 1 between King Punjab Xi and KKR on May 27.

Before scripting the 7th consecutive win, three in a row at Eden Gardens from as many matches, KKR restricted Hyderabad to 160 for loss of seven wickets.

Already in the playoff KKR were needed to cover the target in 15 overs only to make into first two in the table as CSK earlier of the day won against Royal Challengers Bangalore to secure second position after King Punjab XI.

To replace CSK, KKR had only one option to win with record margin and that was achieved by the tsunami of Yusuf Pathan, who took the Man of the Match award.

Before him run machine Robin Uthappa set the bat rolling with his blistering shots scoring 41 from 30 ball with four 4s and two sixes, and captain Gautam Gambhir made 28 from 18 balls. Robin Uthappa so far made 613, the highest run maker in IPL7.

Sent to bat first Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 160 for loss of 7 wickets. Poor running between the wickets, glimpses of excellent fielding and missed catches ( three ) were the summary of the first 20 overs. Opener Shikar Dawan and captain Darren Sammy scored 29 each, Venugopal Rao and Naman Ojha contributed 27 and 26 runs respectively as poor running between wickets cost three of them run out.

Surprisingly top wicket takers Sunil Narine of KKR and Bhubaneswar Kumar of Hyderabad did not get a wicket tonight, who stood 20 each so far. But Narine has chance to increase his scalps in the matches ahead.
