186 drug peddlers nabbed in 7 districts under Bathinda police
The Punjab police is new action by acting real tough against the drug trafficking, a major poll issue in the state during the Lok Sabha elections.
Police have seized huge quantity of drugs during the last four days of special drive in Moga, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Bathinda and Mansa districts of Bathinda police zone, stated Bathinda zone IG Paramraj Singh Umranangal here today.
He said besides huge seizure of drugs police department also dismissed a police constable of the range following seizure of banned substance from his possession.
Meanwhile, according to the IG as many as 183 cases had so far been registered against drug peddlers in all the seven districts of the police zone and 191 accused had been arrested during the last four days of special drive against drugs.
The IG also said, during the drive police seized 0.502 grams heroin, 0504 grams smack, 3.75 kg of contraband opium, 412 kg of poppy husk, 14586 drug tablets, and 2.475 gram intoxicant powder.
The IG claimed that police was determined to break the drug nexus.
