The Punjab Government has invited applications from the graduate students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes and Minority Communities of the state domicile for providing 4 months free coaching for the Probationary Officer (Banks) and Assistant Administrative Officer (LIC/GIC) Examination, 2014.


Official spokesperson of the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare department today said income of the parents of the candidate from all sources should not exceed one lakh per annum.

He said out of 40 seats for the course, 50 per cent seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes, 30 per cent for Other Backward Classes and 20 per cent seats for candidates belonging to Minority Communities i.e. Sikhs, Muslims, Christians, Bodhis and Zoroastrians, provided that 30 per cent women and 5 per cent disabled candidates may be covered in each category, subject to availability.

The spokesperson said that the each selected candidate would be provided free coaching, free hostel accommodation and financial assistance as per government rules.

Those candidates, who have availed coaching twice under the scheme from any state government, Government of India Institute, would not be accommodated. Candidate, who got coaching once under the scheme, can be considered for this course subject to certain conditions, he added.

He said that the selection of the candidate would be made on the basis of objective type.
