Select metals in Ferrous and Non-ferrous metals declined today on sluggish demand from stockists, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.


In ferrous metals, Copper heavy and Brass cuttings fell by Rs 100 per quintal each on selling pressure from stockists. Other metals like Copper utensils, Brass utensils and Aluminium utensils remained steady on scattered demand from stockists, traders said.

In non-ferrous metals, Copper wire bars and Zinc slab dropped by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively owing to weak demand from stockists. Tin slab and Nickel cathode too fell by Rs 7 per kg each. However, Lead ingot was flat, traders added. Ferrous Metals (per quintal):

Copper heavy - Rs 48,600, Copper utensils - Rs 45,800, Brass utensils - Rs 34,600, Brass cuttings - Rs 35,800, and Aluminium utensils - Rs 12,900. Non-ferrous Metals (per quintal): Copper wire bars - Rs 52,100, Aluminium ingots - Rs 15,100, Zinc slabs - Rs 17,400, Lead ingots - Rs 14,700, Tin slabs - Rs 1,608 and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,248.
