Immediately after the general elections, stage is set for the Graduates constituency polls in the Marathwada region.

Voting for the Graduates constituency is scheduled on June 20, and model election code of conduct has been imposed from today in the region that comprises 8 districts.

The election commission today announced program for the elections of graduates and teachers forconstituencies in Maharashtra to elect representatives for Maharashtra Legislative Council.

Marathwada will undergo graduates polls for which election commission will issue notification on May 27.

Candidates will file their nominations till June 3 and scrutiny for the same will be done on June 4.

Candidates will be able to withdraw papers till June 6 while voting is scheduled on June 20 from 0800 hrs to 1600 hrs. Counting will take place on June 24 and the entire process will get over on June 28.

Model election code of conduct is imposed from today in Marathwad region.

Currently, Nationalist Congress Party stalwart Satish Chavan is holding position as MLC from Marathwada Graduates constituency.

This is his second term after BJP leader Shrikant Joshi represented this constituency.

After the Union polls, this will be first election in the state.

It will be interesting to see whether like change of guard in New Delhi, there will be change in Marathwada Graduates constituency.
