Katarniyaghat wildlife sanctuary to become hi-tech
The officials of the Katarniyaghat wildlife sanctary will be equipped with modern technology for better management and safety of the animals.
According to Divisional Forest Officer Subhash Chandra, the patrolling team in the sanctuary will be provided PDA handsets that will enable them to collect information and keep their records safely.
Besides, it will assist the forest officials to trace and capture images with the camera fixed in it.
The use of Information Technology in patrolling will also assist the officials in keeping an eye on the illicit activities in the sanctaury.
So far, 27 PDA handesets have been provided to the officials.
Katarniyaghat wildlife sanctuary is home to a number of endangered species including gharial, tiger, rhino, Gangetic dolphin, Swamp deer, Hispid hare, Bengal florican, the White-backed and Long-billed vultures.
