API arrested in bribe case
An Assistant Police Inspector (API) was arrested by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) for accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from complainant at Kalamboli, Navimumbai last evening.
ACB sources said here today cousin of complainant was in police custody of Murbad Police in a case registered against him. The complainant approached investigating office Rajendra Tukaram Hulavare (45) with a request to file favourable report in the court, so, that police custody would not be extended. For this, Mr Hulavare demanded Rs 50,000.
The complainant was not willing to pay bribe, he lodged a complaint against Mr Hulaware with ACB.
ACB sleuth laid a trap near Mcdonlad Hotel, Kalamboli, Navi Mumbai, and, arrested him while accepting money, sources added.
