Thane judge,who brought the dist. in spotlight, transferred to Mumbai
District Legal Services Authority Secretary SM Chandgade, who with his tireless efforts brought Thane district in the spotlight by topping the list of disposal of cases among the Lok Adalats in the state, has been transferred and posted as the Judge in the court of Metropolitian Magistrate in Mumbai.
Chandgade who did excellent work in the area of bringing to light the woes of the members of the third gender and spreading legal awareness in the villages, was last year felicitated by the Chief Justice of India.
VK Aher Addl. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate 40th Court, Girgaum, Mumbai has been appointed as the Secretary in place of Chandgade.
RR Gandhi Chairman of the MACT Mumbai has been transferred and posted as the Principal District Judge for Thane district in place of KK Sonawane who has been transferred to Nagpur.
In the annual transfer of Judicial Officers a number of judges have been transferred from Thane. They include KN Gautam CJM Thane to Chandrapur and VK Yewalkar CJM from Pune transferred to Thane as the CJM.
Other transfers which have been announced by the HC include, VK Shewale DJ-3 from Pune to Thane; SG Mehere DJ-3 from Nagpur to Vasai, Thane; RM Joshi DJ-2 Vasai, Thane to Kolhapur; MJ Mirza DJ-1 Shrirampur, Ahmednagar to Kalyan, Thane; RD Sawant, DJ-4 Thane to Baramati-Pune; VP Karekar, Member Ind. Court Bhandara to Industrial Court, Thane.
In the process of transfers two judges in Thane, MC Khadke and SY Kulkarni MMACT have been retained in their positions, the orders stated.
The new judges will take their posts in the first week of June after the court reopens after the vacation.
