Former Indian captain and current Lok Sabha MP Mohammed Azharuddin is all set to contest the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from a constituency in West Bengal, reports said.

Azharuddin, who formally joined the Congress in 2009, had registered a victory in the previous Lok Sabha elections, contesting from Moradabad in western Uttar Pradesh.

"I have worked for people of UP now I want to work for people of Bengal, "Azharuddin told CNN-IBN channel.

The former cricketer has a connection with Kolkata as he made his Test debut at the Eden Gardens and scored a century in his maiden appearance.
