Coal India chief S Narsing Rao tipped to be top bureaucrat in Telangana
Coal India Limited's chairman and managing director S Narsing Rao is tipped to be the first chief secretary of the newly formed Telangana state.
Mr Rao, an IAS cadre of 1986 from Andhra Pradesh has been appointed as the top boss of the largest coal producing company on April 24, 2012, has reportedly expressed his willingness to quit his present post to serve the government of Telangana, India Coal Market Watch (ICMW) said.
The report quoting several sources as saying that Mr Rao was expecting to be relieved from his present post by the new Central government before the expiry of the usual notice period (three months) as the new state of Telangana comes into existence on June 2.
Mr Rao was also quoted as saying that he looked forward to working in Telangana as a "son of the soil".
The report maintained that Mr Rao may become principal secretary to K Chandrasekhara Rao, who will be the first chief minister of Telangana.
