The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened higher today by 28 poins to 24,404.48 following buying in Realty, Power, Auto, Technology and FMCG stocks.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) slipped by 16.30 points to 7,259.20.

The sensex registered intra day high and low at 24,419.54 and 24,329.53 points respectively.

The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 7,287.15 and 7,246.00 points respectively.

Barring Capial Goods and Metal stocks, other sectoral indices were seen up in the opening trade.

Seeing the scrips, Bajaj Auto, NTPC, Relinace and Mahinda & Mahindra increased while BHEL, Bharti Airtel, L & T and Sun Pharma drifted lower that capped from further gain, broker said.

The gainers were Bajaj Auto by 2.81 pc to Rs 1924, NTPC by 1.44 pc to Rs 144.75, Reliance by 1.13 pc to Rs 1090.70 and Mahindra and Mahindra by 0.63 pc to Rs 1142.50.

The losers were BHEL by 1.82 pc to Rs 272.85, Bharti Airtel by 1.71 pc to Rs 341.80, L & T by 1.48 pc to Rs 1486 and Sun Pharma by 1.28 pc to Rs 579.80.
