Fresh from her party's landslide victory in the Lok Sabha elections, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said the state would show way to the country in the coming days.

"Bengal has always shown the way to India. In the coming days also, it will show the way to everyone," she said at an official programme while conferring the state's highest civilian awards to 33 eminent persons for their outstanding contribution in various fields.

The occasion also marked completion of three years of the Mamata Banerjee Government.

Former Indian soccer captain Bhaichung Bhutia and veteran film actress Madhabi Mukherjee were among those awarded 'Bangabhusan'.

Singers Srikanta Acharya, Indranil Sen, Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta, Indrani Sen, Lopamudra Mitra, cricketers Laxmi Ratan Shukla and Manoj Tiwary, chess grandmaster Surya Sekhar Ganguly, educationist Felix Raj, dancer Alakananda Roy and physician Sukumar Mukherjee were among those honoured with the 'Bangabusan' award.
