The Implementation Support Review (ISR) Mission team of World Bank has applauded the achievement of National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project (NCRMP) in Odisha.


A seven member ISR Mission Team made field visits to different project sites from May 12 to May 15 last and interacted with community members.

The team also reviewed the procurement process and financial management process of OSDM and visited the projects sites in Rajnagar-Gopalpur embankment, Chasisabha Saline Embankment and several cyclone shelters and approach road.

Official sources said a total number of 154 projects have been sanctioned and taken up under the project. Out of which 60 projects have already been completed, 24 are in finishing stage and the balance are in different stages of completion.

Similarly, the project has been prepared for construction of 175.33 kms of approach road to these shelters. All these works grouped under 78 packages have been taken up, and till the date, around 95 kms of CC road have been completed.

There has been more than 100 per cent utilisation of funds in these projects up to April 30,2014. Till date a total amount of Rs 233 crore has been received as Central and State share which includes the central share of Rs 158 crore.
