Failure in the Congress's election organisation and anti-Congress wave created by the BJP are reasons for the party's failure in state and on the national level in the Lok Sabha election, according to senior state Congress leader and former Chief Minister Ravi Naik.

Speaking to mediapersons here today Naik said, "in democracy there is success and defeat and we have accepted our defeat sportingly. Congress failed at the organisation level and this created a division of votes which benefitted the BJP."

He further expressed hope that the BJP Prime Ministerial-designate Narendra Modi would emerge successful in fulfilling the promises he made to the people during the LS elections and wished him well in doing good for the people of the country.

When questioned about what steps the state Congress is taking to strengthen the party Naik said, "we have to start at the grassroot level to strengthen the booths and make them active. People should be educated about the various governments schemes reaching. We will also help them in solving their grievances."
