The newly elected Member of Parliament from Amritsar Capt Amarinder Singh today put on record his gratitude towards everybody who participated in the election process there including the people of Amritsar, the polling officials, the police and the observers who had been deputed by the Election Commission of India for the smooth conduct of the elections.


In a statement issued here today, he said, without the participation of the general public and the cooperation and support of the officials the elections would not have been possible in a smooth and peaceful manner. He had special word of thanks for the Returning Officer and the Amritsar Deputy Commissioner and the Police Commissioner Amritsar as far as their role in conducting the elections in a free and fair manner was concerned.

The former Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the ex-servicemen. He said, the overwhelming love and affection provided to him by the ex-servicemen had contributed to a large extent towards his success. He said, it was actually the success of the people of Amritsar who had given him the honour to represent them in the highest legislature of the country.
