Apparantly seeking to build bridges with the new government at the Centre Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today congraulated BJP's prime miniserial candidate for leading his party to a 'magnificent victory' in the just concluded Lok Sabha elections.

In a letter to Mr Modi, the Prime Minister designate, the AIADMK supremo , who herself led her party to a thumping win, bagging 27 of the 39 Lok Sabha seats said 'I congratulate you on the magnificent victory in the 16th Lok Sabha Elections'.

'I wish you and the Government under your stewardship the very best and look forward to an era of meaningful co-operation between the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu', she said

Ms Jayalalithaa shared good friendly relations with the Gujarat Chief Minister until criticising indirectly his achievements for the development of that state during her election campaign in the city.

This was after Mr Modi, campaigning for the DMDK, MDMK, PMK and two other regional parties in the BJP-led NDA Front in Tamil Nadu, had criticised the AIADMK and the DMK of having done little for the people of the state, except criticising each other coming to power alternately.

Ms Jayalalithaa had also dismissed any Modi wave in the state stating 'No Modi, only the Lady' (referring to herself).
