Maharashtra BJP president Devendra Phadnavis today took potshots at Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), saying the Lok Sabha election results had converted it into a 'nano' party.

"The party had eight MPs from Maharashtra which could fit in Innova car and now only four members have been elected, they can be accomodated in a Nano car," he said while talking to reporters here today.

Mr Phadnavis said the recently-concluded Lok Sabha elections had demolished the caste and religion equations not only in the state, but all over the country.

Development had emerged as the prime issue due to Modi-led campaigning in the polls, he added.

The senior BJP leader said the party would apprise the new Prime Minister of problems of Maharashtra.

He said the party would reciprocate the faith of people in the alliance of BJP, Shiv Sena and Republic Party of India (RPI) in the state.

BJP had won 23 out of 24 seats oit contested in the Lok Sabha elections, while Shiv Sena emerged victorious at 18 out of 20 it fought on.
