BJP President Rajnath Singh today said the BJP has achieved resounding success in 2014 Lok Sabha polls results due to party's Good governance in BJP ruled states, party's development agenda and dynamic leadership of party's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.


Addressing a press conference here at the party headquarters, the BJP President said people of the country have given a mandate for a change.

"It is the first time that after 1984 that a single party has got a clear majority in the Lok Sabha polls," Mr Singh said.

The BJP President said the Lok Sabha results shows "a new era" has started.

On Narendra Modi, Mr Singh said, "I don't think that any leader in the country has addressed so many rallies."

"There will be a BJP's Central Parliamentary Board Meeting tomorrow," the BJP President informed the mediapersons.

About BJP's senior leader L K Advani, Rajnath Singh said, Mr Advani is not only senior party leader but he is "our guardian and guide".

He said AB Vajpayee(former Prime Minister) and L K Advani have played a big role in giving heights to the BJP.

On asked about Mr Advani's role in the new government, the BJP President said, " Role of everyone in the party will be decided after talking to everyone and it will based on consensus."

"India's success story has not ended. India's success story has just begun," BJP president Rajnath Singh said.

Describing it an "historic win", Mr Singh advised his party workers to be humble in victory and not say anything which might offend any party, organisation or person.

Seeking to allay fears of minorities, he said the fears had been created among their minds but the BJP would take every section of the society along.

"There will be no arrogance in any of our party leaders or workers," he said and added that the party did not believe in appeasement to anybody. He asserted that the BJP would not give scope for any "question mark" on its credibility and would consult all on important issues.

He said the "lotus had bloomed" in the entire country and it was now time to re-write history and whatever the party would do, it would do with everybody's consent.

Asked about cabinet formation, he said it is Prime Minister's prerogative.
