Seven people, including a builder were arrested in Vadodara, for betting on a IPL match.

Property and cash worth more than Rs 40 lakh was recovered from them, a police official said today.

They were arrested late last night, while betting at the builder's house, in Siddhartha Apartment, Vadodara.

However, one of their accomplice fled from the spot.

Police Inspector, Pradeep Singh Jadeja said the police got a tip-off that some people were betting on an IPL match.

The police recovered cash worth Rs 40,000, 16 mobile phones, six vehicles, a TV and a laptop from the arrested.

"The builder has been arrested before in connection with betting," the police official said.

About 29 bookies have been arrested from different parts of the state for betting on IPL matches during last few days. On Tuesday, nine people were arrested from Surat for ipl betting.
