Grand victory celebration planned by BJP in Gujarat
Confident of a clear majority in the Lok Sabha elections, results of which will be declared tomorrow, the BJP in Gujarat has planned grand victory celebrations across the state with main functions to be held in Ahmedabad and Vadodara.
Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi contested from Vadodara and Varanasi seats in the general elections.
State BJP spokesperson Harshad Patel today told UNI that all the districts and taluka units of the party have been instructed to celebrate the victory of Modi-led BJP in a grand manner.
The units have arranged to burst fire crackers at 1800 hrs tomorrow by the time results are likely to be announced.
The party is trying to make arrangement in all villages for live telecast of the results.
He said, "voters of Vadodara will organise a celebration function at around 1600 hrs, whereas the state-level function will be held at Paladi area in Ahmedabad at around 1900 hrs, with Mr Modi likely to attend both the functions."
BJP workers will distribute sweets and burst fire crackers while the young supporters are looking forward to dance to the tune of drums to hail the victory of their icon Modi.
In Gandhinagar, 'Sri Kamalam' the state BJP headquarter is being decked up with flowers and lights where hundreds of senior leaders and party workers are expected to gather.
The people in Mr Modi's home town of Vadnagar in North Gujarat are all set to celebrate the height scaled by the son of the soil tomorrow.
The residents of Vadnagar have planned to decorate their houses and streets to celebrate a Gujarati becoming the next Prime Minister.
Several Gujaratis residing in national capital of Delhi have also planned to watch the rise of a Gujarati to the country's top job by watching live telecast of results together on Rajniwas Marg.
