All political party action committee gears up for 'Mahamorcha' on June 9
All Political Party Action Committee (AC) will take out a 'Mahamorcha' on June 9, from Gandhi Maidan to protest against the state governments attitude towards toll issue.
"After the meeting of the AC members under the presidentship of senior leader Prof ND Patil, the AC has decided to take out a 'Mahamorcha' towards district collector office for a final decision on toll issue," Nivasrao Salokhe, AC Convener said.
"The AC also tried to speak with two district ministers -- Labour Minister Hasan Mushrif and Minister of the State for Home Satej Patil -- on this issue, but till today they have not given us a date to disccuss the same," he said.
Both ministers had assured the people that they would compel the state government to take decision for cancellation toll permanently, but they could not take any decision so far.
Mr Salokhe urged the two ministers to participate in Mahamorcha to prove their solidarity towards the people's demand of toll cancellation.
"Bombay High Court Justice Abhay Oak and MV Sonak had styed IRB company from toll collection for 49 km city and internal approaching road built by them on BOT."
Later the company moved Supreme Court against the HC's order and on May 5, chief justice of India R M Lodha, justice Madan Lokur and Justice Kurian Joseph set aside the HC's order and permitted the company to collect the toll for the 49 km road project in the City.
The court also ordered the HC to take decisions on various pleas on toll issue before July 31.
Meanwhile, the administration department of the company is ready to begin toll collection on nine points of the city as per Supreme Court's order at any time, Mr Salokhe added.
