IPL: RCB beat DD by 16 runs
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Delhi Daredevils by 16 runs in an Indian Premier League match here on Tuesday.
Riding on Yuvraj Singh's unbeaten 68, RCB posted 186 fo four ont he scoreboard and then restricted the visitors to 170 for seven in 20 overs.
Singh continued improving his form in the IPL and his 29-ball 68 was a reflection of his return to good touch.
Chris Gayle (22), Parthiv Patel (29) and AB de Villiers (33) made some improtant contributions with their willows which helped RCB post 186 on the scoreboard.
Singh was ruthless on Tuesday as he smashed nine huge sixes and a boundary in his knock that thoroughly entertained the spectators.
All Delhi bowlers went for runs specially when Singh is in good flow.
Mohammed Shami, Siddarth Kaul and Rahul Shukla picked a wicket each.
Losing two quick wickets early, Delhi had a terrible start tot he run chase.
Quinton de Kock (6) and Murali Vijay (1) returned to the pavilion with just 10 runs on the board after 2 overs.
Mayank Agarwal (31), Kevin Pietersen (33) and Jean-Paul Duminy (48) made some good contributions with their bats to syabilize the innings after receiving the initial jolts.
Kedar Jadhav, who got run out at a crucial juncture, contributed 37 runs.
However, the Delhi batsmen failed to reach the target, facing some good bowling by the local side.
Muttiah Muralitharan and Mitchell Starc picked up two wickets each for RCB.
