Viewers of Aurangabad city area will be able to observe the process of counting of votes through live telecast from Shendra MIDC area for Aurangabad Lok Sabha seat through local cable network, right from the beginning till the end.


Counting of votes will commence from 0800 hrs on May 16, under foolproof security, said election official sources.

After the Apr 24 election, the administration has made arrangements to keep sealed EVMs in the strong room made at the premises of private Company shed at the Shendra MIDC area.

Presently 85 policemen of the state and central reserve police force have been deployed day and night to guard the strong room.

As a precautionary measure, 16 CCTV cameras have been installed in the strong room of which eight cameras aid in live telecast of the situation to officers through internet link. Some of the candidates have also been provided with this facility, they added.

For the counting process, a total of 400 employees will be utilised on a total of 84 tables, of which 14 tables will be used for each of the six assembly segments with 20 counting rounds.

Training of all the employees for the counting is underway today at district collector office.
