Environmental factors must play important role in decision making
Mr A K Ghose, Principal Advisor, National Accreditation Board for Education and Training today said environmental factors must play important role in corporate decision making, as it makes business sense.
Participating in a workshop on Environment, Occupational Health and Safety, organised by Andhra Pradesh Confederation of Indian Industry here, Mr Ghose also pointed out that in the private sector, decisions are taken mostly on financial grounds but it makes a good business sense to consider environmental factors.
'The cost of disruption in business due to environmental reasons may be more than actually solving the problem', he said.
Lt Col (Retd.) Ajay Randhawa, Founder and President, Virtual Safety Solutions and Training, in his address, talked about the need to focus on Environment Health Safety.
'EHS culture should be set in with behavioural management system' he said. Earlier, in his welcome address, Mr Suresh Chitturi, Chairman, CII Andhra Pradesh and Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Srinivasa Hatcheries Ltd pointed out that the Industry, Government and Labour must come together to strategize EHS. 'There is a need for more organized sector to address EHS', he said.
