Fire in Central bank of India of Punjab
A major tragedy was averted by the timely efforts of Sangrur fire brigade officials, who managed to distinguish the flames in Sangrur branch of the Central Bank of India today.
Though fire officials managed to protect the hard copies of the bank records, but they could not save the data installed in the two computers, including a server. Ram Avtar, Branch Manager of the bank said.
The blaze was triggered by short circuit in the server room, where two computers sets and a printer got damaged. But the bank record was saved by the timely efforts of the firemen.
He said the incident took place at 0700 hrs in the morning, when the security guard of the bank telephoned him as the smoke was coming out from the windows.
A tender of fire brigade reached the spot and managed to douse the flames, Mr Avtar added.
