BJP national spokesperson Prakash Javadekar today said the Supreme Court order for CBI inquiry into the Saradha scam would badly expose the Trinamool Congress, that continued to oppose a probe by the Central agency.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Javadekar said 'We welcome the verdict. It is a 'historic judgement. Now we are expecting that the poor people will get their money back and those involved in the scam will be punished.'

"Scams take place everywhere. But in West Bengal, this scam happened with the blessings of the state Government. Now the nexus, the Government and the Trinamool leaders have with the scamsters, will be exposed,' he said.

The BJP spokesperson alleged that AITC, its leaders and promoters of Saradha were benefited by the ponzi scam, while poor people stood losers.

'We appeal to the Election Commissioner to be more vigilant, deploy more central forces, engage more CCTVs and take stern action against the hooligans to ensure free and fair polls in the last phase of Lok Sabha election,' Mr Javadekar said.

He alleged that both the Trinamool Congress and Congress were planning to rig the last phase poll in West Bengal, because they were fearful of the 'Modi wave' throughout the country. Replying to a question on BJP's expectations in West Bengal, Mr Javadekar replied 'the party won two seats in 1999 but this time we are confident to touch the double digit-mark.'
