Decomposed bodies of two minor boys were fished out from a canal in the tehsil today after intense search for two days.

On May 7, two boys -- Pranav Madhukar Khelukar (8) and Yogesh Balkrisnha Mawle (11) from Beedi Kamgar Nagar -- had gone for a bath in the canal which flows near the Adarsh school in Panchavati area of city. However, they drowned, police said.

When both of them did not return home till late evening, their parents informed the police.

A team of policemen and fire brigade personnel reached the spot and conducted the search for the boys till late night of Wednesday but due to power failure and rain, the search was stopped.

Yesterday also, the search operation continued till late night.

The search began today again and the bodies of the boys were recovered from canal water.

The body of Pranav was found near Sayydpimpri Shivar while that of Yogesh from near Lakhalgaon Shivar.

Both the bodies were handed over to the relatives after post-mortem, sources added.
