The MIDC police have booked four people including the husband and in-laws of a married woman for allegedly harassing her for Rs six lakh dowry demand.

The woman, Pallavi Puranik (30), stated in her complaint that her husband Nitesh Puranik and his parents including mother Sarogini, father Ramesh and brother-in-law Yogesh started her mental harassment by demanding to bring Rs six lakh from her parents, police said.

Fed up with continual harassment, Pallavi approached the MIDC police station and registered a complaint against all the four members of her family.

Acting on her complaint, an offence under Sections 498(A), 321, 504, 506 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code was registered against all of them, sources added.
