Dirk Nowitzki scored a game-high 28 points to carry the Dallas Mavericks help beat the Detroit Pistons 116-106.

The Mavs avoided a three-game losing streak after the victory Sunday. Nowitzki, a 15-year veteran, made 10 out of his 16 shots, and took home nine rebounds and four assists. Jose Calderon added 17. Devin Harris had a personal season-high 14 points from the bench, reports Xinhua.

Brondon Jennings and Josh Smith had 26 and 25 points respectively for the Pistons.
