Debt ridden farmer committs suicide in Nashik
A 47-year-old farmer allegedly committed suicide over worries about his debt at Girnare village in Deola taluka of the district, police said today.
Farmer Barku Khairnar committed suicide by hanging himself in his house yesterday, they said.
Khairnar had taken loans for purchase a pick-up van in addition to also taking loan from a cooperative credit society.
He was unable to repay loan instalments and took the extreme step due to worries over the rising loan money, family sources said.
Police have registered a case of sudden death, and further investigation are on.
