The Gujarat High Court today proposed to frame charges against former state law minister Dilip Sanghani for contempt of court.

Petitioner Rajendra Mistry had alleged that Mr Sanghani had made derogatory remarks against the judiciary. The bench of Justices M R Shah and R P Dholeria, however, posted the matter for next hearing on June 26.

Mr Sanghani had allegedly made derogatory remarks against the judiciary at a public meeting in Jamnagar in 2012.

The former minister has also filed an affidavit raising preliminary objection against the ongoing case of contempt of court against him.
